Joltmap is a visual and analytical tool that shows the connection between "what you are doing" (projects)
and "what you need to achieve" (goals). A great way to start those important conversations about what
we are doing, what we should be doing, and what to do about it.
Feel free to create an account and experiment with this
"nifty" web application. We're looking for feedback and comments.
Benefit Maps have been around for a long time. They provide a static view of the connection between projects and the benefits that those projects provide to the organisation. Benefits can be "interim" benefits or "final benefits". "Interim Benefits" can be thought of as an intermediate, short term benefit, whereas "Final Benefits" can be thought of as the desired stragetic outcomes. Interim benefits are acheived through a combination of multiple project deliverables. Final benefits are achieved through a combinatio of Interim Benefits and multiple project deliverables.
Joltmap provides an easy way to create benefit maps. It extends benefit maps by showing progress towards interim and final benefits based on project and deliverable status across the three measures of scope, cost and time. Joltmap deliberately uses the terms "Tactical Goals" and "Strategic Goals" in place of "interim benefits" and "final benefits" in order to make Joltmaps more accessible to senior managers.
Create a joltmap in three easy steps:
Your Joltmap is now available. Use it as the basis for sensible conversations about progress towards your goals and objectives.
Use as much or as little of Joltmap as you want. Add additional details - such as a configurable goal type - whenever it makes sense. Add new projects, deliverables, tactical and strategic goals at any time.
Set or update project and deliverables as needed. Add or alter dependencies as circumstances and business conditions change.Your Joltmap will instantly reflect the changes you make.
Great for those conversations about what to do next.
